A brand new tale of discovery about the importance of truth, family and love. Maiden Voyage is the follow-up to the internationally acclaimed LGBTQ themed fairytale Promised Land

Written by Jaimee Poipoi, Adam Reynolds & Chaz Harris, the book features 32 stunning illustrations by Christine Luiten & Bo Moore. Sure to delight kids young and old.

Once upon a time there was a distant land, unseen,

Hidden by the lies of a cruel and evil queen.

Only one of royal blood could ever take her crown,

A brave young girl who once was lost, never to be found...

Written by Jaimee Poipoi, Adam Reynolds, and Chaz Harris, the tale of Maiden Voyage starts with Ru and her father fishing together. When her father becomes gravely ill he reveals her true destiny - she is the long lost princess and her mother, Princess Marina, whom all presume dead, may actually be alive and in the clutches of the evil Queen Neva.

Ru sets out with a secret map to find her mother. At first she's met with laughter and dismissal but a courageous young woman offers her a place in her crew. Captain Freya, along with her first mate and navigator Bowie the cat, join Ru on her journey and their friendship begins to blossom into something more.

Maiden Voyage is the companion to the popular Promised Land. The illustrations, by Christine Luiten and Bo Moore, are eye-catching and show a depth to the wider world these characters inhabit. The story both starts, and ends with a rhyme indicative of more classic fairy-tales, yet the story is very modern in its telling and an excellent addition to the growing number of LGBTQI titles. A great adventure and love story, from an inclusive team of creators, Maiden Voyage is a tale for all to enjoy.
