Frances Cherry has had seven novels published, three for adults and four for children. Her novel, Leon was short listed in the 2001 NZ Post Children's Book Awards and translated into Slovenian the following year. She has had many short stories published in various anthologies, school publications and on radio, as well as three of her own collections. She has run writing workshops for many years at various educational institutions, as well as prisons, WEA and Fullbright Foundation. She now runs workshops in her own home. She has recently finished her memoir, To be perfectly Frances, which is about to be published by Steele Roberts.
