For generations, the songs and rhymes of American folk culture have delighted little ones and connected adult and child. These treasures were once passed on from parent or grandparent to child, but are now in danger of being lost and forgotten with changes in technology and family structure. This series helps to develop a young child's imagination and musical sensibilities, as well as create an intimate quiet time between parent and child. Tapping on the bottom of a baby's foot and gently touching a baby's face, fingers, or legs are natural games that have brought joy to children for generations. Clapping a baby's hands together or inviting a baby to clap onto hands lets a baby and adult communicate through play and without words.
